Introduction
	The course offered in the department deal with the discipline of Islamic Studies, which include History of Islamic Civilization (the study of Muslim culture and civilization from a varied dimensions be academic, artistic or socio- economic) ,Islamic Religious Sciences, Sufism, Muslim Philosophy, Religions and inter-faith Dialogue, Important Thinkers and Movements (South & West Asia), Islam in the Modern World, Islamic Finance & Investment, and Islamic Social Science etc. The major courses taught in the programme are Islamic History, Islamic Religious & Social Sciences, Islamic Finance & Investment, Tasawwuf, Contemporary Muslim Societies, Religions & Inter-faith Dialogue, Human Rights in Islam, Islamic Thought & Reform Movements etc.

	A Candidate must have secured not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade points in his Master’s Programme.

Carrer Prospectus
	The pass outs of the department can have opportunities in higher education 10+2+3 as professionals. In addition to this they can also opt for general line teachers in SSRB. Apart from the academics the pass outs can be absorbed in government and semi government jobs as and when they fulfill the criteria.
